Job Description

The Software Engineer II plays a pivotal role in designing and implementing advanced features and solutions that support the Tax practice and delivery of Tax services to clients. As a senior developer and key member of an Agile team, you will design, develop, and implement innovative tax products and solutions to address complex business needs, collaborate effectively with team members, and mentor junior developers.

• Design, develop, and implement innovative tax products and solutions to address complex business needs.
• Develop and test software solutions using advanced web and cloud-based technologies and frameworks.
• Apply modern software engineering principles across the entire software lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, unit testing, code reviews, Dev Ops, defect remediation, troubleshooting, and release management.
• Review and analyze business requirements to provide technical feasibility and accurate estimates, working closely with leads, business teams, clients, and other functional groups to deliver high‑quality software products.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to enhance code quality and performance, ensuring adherence to software engineering standards and compliance.
• Proactively escalates critical issues to management and implements strategies for timely resolution.
• Formulate and execute strategies, and develop comprehensive proposals for software design and architecture, contributing to the overall technical direction of the team.

• Bachelor's degree required; focus in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Finance, or Accounting preferred.

• Three (3) or more years of experience developing web applications utilizing C#, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, Type Script), React or similar.
• Three (3) or more years of experience developing stored procedures and database schemas using Azure SQL and Azure Cosmos DB or similar.
• Proficient in applying software engineering and object‑oriented programming principles.
• Hands‑on experience with building web‑based apps using front‑end and full‑stack skills.
• Experience with software design, algorithms, data structures, data modeling, and design patterns.
• Experience writing clean code, participating in code reviews, and minimizing technical debt.
• Foundational understanding of Agile solution development and Dev Ops skills.
• Familiarity with SQL Server and relational database concepts.
• Experience analyzing business requirements and process design.
• Experience providing solution support post Go‑Live/Production.

• Azure Fundamentals (Az‑900) or Microsoft Developer Associate preferred.
• Other certifications in Microsoft, Azure MTA / MCSD preferred.

• Experience with the following products, preferred:

• Microsoft Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub
• Microsoft SQL Server and/or Azure SQL DB
• Microsoft SQL Reporting Services and/or Power BI
