Ally designates roles as (1) fully on‑site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role’s specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.

This role reports to the office 3 (three) times a week; in a hybrid schedule.

We are seeking a hands‑on Sr. Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of enterprise‑grade applications that power critical business interactions and digital experiences. This role will drive the delivery of secure, scalable, and high‑performing platforms across front‑end and back‑end with the ability to drive engineering best practices and provide leadership within and across teams. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who takes ownership, works well in a collaborative environment, and demonstrates the potential to grow into broader technical leadership responsibilities.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and enterprise applications using Java and modern cloud‑native architecture.
• Contribute to front‑end development including support for user‑facing features and full‑stack solutions when needed.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable software designs and implementation plans, provide estimates and communicate trade‑offs and risks clearly.
• Write clean, reusable, secure, and high‑quality code that aligns with engineering standards and best practices. Address vulnerabilities on a regular basis and always look for opportunities of enhancements.
• Contribute to system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision‑making across projects.
• Demonstrate ownership of deliverables from design through deployment and production support.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools and agents to improve engineering productivity, accelerate delivery, enhance code quality, and support activities such as code generation, refactoring, test creation, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate and apply AI‑assisted development practices responsibly, including validating outputs, maintaining code quality, and ensuring alignment with security and engineering standards.
• Perform code reviews, promote excellence in engineering, and help raise the technical capabilities of the team.
• Provide informal technical leadership through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and guidance on design and implementation approaches.
• Participate in and help lead agile ceremonies and technical sessions, including sprint planning, design reviews, backlog refinement, code reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support automated testing, continuous integration, and CI/CD practices across the software delivery lifecycle.
