Akkodis is seeking a software engineer for one of our clients in Metro Detroit, Michigan.
Rate Range: $52.00/hour to $55.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced full-stack Java Software Engineer with 7+ years of professional software development experience to join a growing engineering team focused on building scalable cloud-based applications and developer platform solutions. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern microservices architectures while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong backend expertise in Java and Spring Boot, experience developing front-end applications using Angular, and a solid understanding of CI/CD best practices.
This position requires hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a passion for building reliable, high-performing systems in an Agile environment.
We are currently seeking candidates who reside in the local area. This role is 4 days on-site and 1 day WFH.
Please note, we cannot work on C2C for this position.
Requirements- 7+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise application development.
- Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles.
- Hands-on experience developing applications using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting microservices-based architectures.
- Front-end development experience with Angular.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and distributed systems.
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including cloud-native application development and deployment. (Required)
- Experience with source control tools such as Git and modern development workflows.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and participation in sprint planning, code reviews, and collaborative development practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field required.
