Shopify Headless Developer (Shopify Plus | Next.js | React)

You will collaborate with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing digital commerce experiences.

Responsibilities

Build custom customer experiences including product discovery, product detail pages, shopping cart, checkout, customer accounts, and post-purchase functionality.
Integrate Shopify using Admin API, Storefront API, Customer Account API, GraphQL, and Webhooks.
Design and implement dynamic storefront content using Shopify Metaobjects and Metafields.
Build integrations with enterprise platforms including ERP, OMS, CRM, PIM, payment gateways, inventory, pricing, and fulfillment systems.
Develop custom commerce functionality using Shopify Functions and Checkout UI Extensions.
Optimize application performance, API efficiency, Core Web Vitals, and mobile responsiveness.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Implement automated testing using Playwright or similar frameworks.
Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Git Hub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude to improve engineering productivity.

Required Qualifications

3-5+ years of ecommerce development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Shopify Plus.
Proven experience building headless commerce applications.
Experience with Shopify Admin API, Storefront API, Customer Account API, GraphQL, and Webhooks.
Strong understanding of Shopify Metaobjects, Metafields, and Markets.
Experience with API-first and composable architecture.
Solid understanding of ecommerce workflows including catalog management, cart, checkout, payments, promotions, fulfillment, and order lifecycle.
Experience integrating Shopify with enterprise applications such as ERP, OMS, CRM, PIM, payment providers, or fulfillment platforms.
Strong understanding of frontend performance optimization and modern web development best practices.
Experience working in Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Hydrogen and Oxygen.
Experience integrating headless CMS platforms such as Contentful, Sanity, Builder.io, or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
Experience with Shopify Functions and Checkout UI Extensions.
Knowledge of MACH or composable commerce architecture.
Experience with authentication solutions including Auth0 or Okta.
Experience with Vercel, Datadog, Sentry, or similar developer tools.
Experience implementing WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
Automotive or large-scale Retail ecommerce experience is highly preferred.
