Software Engineer, Java Developer, Backend Developer

Optomi, in partnership with one of our top clients in the Detroit area, is seeking a talented Java Developer! The right candidate will assist in a legacy migration primarily working in a tech stack consisting of Java/J2EE and AWS.

Skills:

• Extensive hands-on development experience with Java/J2EE applications utilizing components such as JSP, servlets, and controllers
• Extensive experience in writing complex PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers
• Expertise in database schema design, normalization, and performance tuning
• Strong ability to manage and troubleshoot legacy applications using Unix system commands, shell scripting, process management, log analysis, and performance monitoring tools
• Experience with CI/CD framework (e.g., Git, Jenkins) and deployments in Tomcat, Weblogic, or JBoss
• Strong understanding of Core Java concepts like Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, experience building thread-safe code
• Experience working with Terraform, IAM, and other AWS modules
• Experience with JWT, OAuth2, OKTA, and other authentication and authorization frameworks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with web application servers like Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss
• Experience with Dev Ops practices and CICD model of development
