Position Details

• Location:
  
  14250 Plymouth Rd, Detroit, MI
• Pay:
  • $22.50/hour for experienced drivers (20+ years)
  • $21.00/hour for 0‑1 year experience (after 1 year jumps to $24.25/hour)
• Shift: 1st shift 5:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Routes: local shuttle routes, 2–3 runs per day between terminal and customer locations
• Home daily
• Light touch freight – chaining or strapping loads; drivers are held accountable for the load
• OT after 40 hours (usually 5–10 hours extra during a 5‑day work week; additional if a 6th day is offered)
• Union position – Teamsters Local 299
• Seniority‑based route bidding every 6 months

• Safely transport materials between terminal and customer locations.
• Follow delivery schedules based on customer production needs.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections.
• Maintain DOT compliance at all times.
• Communicate with dispatch and operations teams.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
• Complete necessary HAZMAT paperwork if required.
• Assist with chain or strap loading as needed.

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Clean driving record with strong safety history.
• Ability to meet DOT requirements.
• Strong communication and time‑management skills.
• Must be able to relatively stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
• Completion of the T2T (Train‑to‑Train) program required for recent graduates; experienced drivers may be exempt based on prior experience.
