Truck Driver CDL A Solo Regional

Position Summary

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Detroit, MI. The role offers weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

• Solo Miles Pay: $0.62 per mile with approximately 1,800 miles per week.

• Solo Stops Pay: $50.00 per stop with about 5 stops per week.

• Paid training and a $4,000 sign‑on bonus (split 50/50 at 30 and 90 days).

•

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday, start time 3:00 AM – 8:00 AM.

• Deliver solo to: OH, MI, IN, PA, WV, MS, AL, GA, IL, TN, AR, SC, NC, MN, Upstate NY.
• Route:
  Local home daily and regional with up to 3 nights out per week.
• Tractor:
  Straight tanker/sleeper cab.
• Trailer:
  Liquid tanker trailer, 28 ft or 48 ft.
• Freight:
  Touch – driver will connect hoses and pressurize trailer with assistance.
• Endorsements:
  Tanker required;
  Hazmat preferred (Ryder will provide training and assistance).
• Experience:
  
  6 months‑1 year of tanker experience, 9 months‑3 years of Class A experience or 2 years‑5 years or 5 years‑10 years.
• Passports or enhanced driver's license for possible Canada entry.
• FAST Pass preferred.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background and motor‑vehicle check, DOT physical, and Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months within the past 3 years, or
  • 2 years within the last 5 years, or
  • 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, and regulations.

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
