Truck Driver CDL A Regional

Position Description

Class A CDL Truck Driver in Detroit, MI offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Weekly pay averages $1,800, with top earners earning more than $2,000 per week. Pay includes $0.62 per mile for 1,800 miles and $50 per stop for five stops per week. Training is paid.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 3:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

Ryder Drivers operate well‑maintained, safe trucks – 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Routes include local home‑daily and regional with up to 3 nights out per week.

Delivery to: OH, MI, IN, PA, WV, MS, AL, GA, IL, TN, AR, SC, NC, MN, Upstate NY.

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and standards.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards and maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, or 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, or 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

• Tractor type:
  Straight tanker/sleeper cab.
• Trailer type:
  Liquid tanker trailer 28’ and 48’.
• Freight:
  Touch – Driver will connect hoses and pressurize trailer with assistance.
• Endorsements:
  Tanker required (Hazmat preferred – Ryder will train and help obtain Hazmat). Must have 6 months to 1 year of tanker experience.
• Must have passport or enhanced driver’s license to possibly enter Canada.
• FAST Pass preferred.

• Medical, dental and vision after 30 days.
• 80 hours PTO your first year, starting day 1 (use it or get paid for it).
