School Transportation Driver – Hiring 20 Drivers
Bright Path Rides is hiring 20 additional School Transportation Drivers throughout Metro Detroit.
We provide safe, reliable transportation for students traveling to and from school throughout the Detroit area. As we continue expanding our operations, we’re looking for dependable drivers who want consistent weekday routes and enjoy working independently.
What the Job Looks LikeDrivers transport students between their homes and schools using an approved vehicle. Routes operate Monday through Friday during the school year, primarily in two windows:
Morning:Before school
There is typically a break between morning and afternoon routes. Depending on your availability, location, and assigned routes, opportunities may be available for both AM and PM transportation.
Some drivers may also receive stacked routes, allowing them to complete multiple compatible trips during the same morning or afternoon period.
Driver Pay- Short-distance routes generally start around $23.50 per route
- Route base pay can reach $30 per route based on mileage
- Additional route opportunities may be available as our volume grows
Exact compensation is provided before a driver accepts an assignment.
What We’re Looking For- Be 21 years of age or older
- Have a valid driver’s license and safe driving history
- Have access to a reliable, clean, properly insured vehicle
- Be available consistently Monday–Friday for assigned routes
- Be dependable and punctual
- Communicate consistently with dispatch
- Be able to use a smartphone and transportation app
- Complete required background, driving-record, drug-screening and safety/compliance requirements
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with students, families and school personnel
No CDL is required for standard passenger-vehicle routes.
Experience with rideshare, delivery, NEMT, school transportation, childcare, caregiving, professional driving or similar work can be helpful, but it is not required.
