Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees warehouse employees to ensure business objectives are met for safety, quality, productivity, responsiveness, and overall operational efficiency. This role requires a hands‑on leader who can counsel and support employees, drive process improvements, and maintain compliance with company standards.
Job Responsibilities- Counsel and support hourly employees with needs and concerns as required
- Address performance behaviors by reinforcing positives and discouraging negatives
- Apply the Quality Network problem‑solving process to address opportunities and engage the workforce for ideas
- Utilize the Workplace Organization (WPO) process to improve layouts and efficiency
- Perform daily Timekeeping System (TKS) updates to ensure accurate payroll processing
- Use A-3 reporting format to document problem‑solving activities while following local A-3 guidelines
- Conduct daily meetings to communicate performance and foster two‑way discussions with employees
- Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of departments
- Plan daily workloads in advance to support business goals
- Collaborate with colleagues to optimize shift performance
- Observe and enforce contractual requirements, both National and Local
- Enforce shop rules consistently and fairly
- Perform daily Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) audit checks
- Advance skills through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process
- Keep the General Supervisor and Shop Committee informed of all pending activities
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
- Basic math proficiency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of technology related to assigned area
- Knowledge of scheduling and management systems
- Strong analytical ability to solve complex problems
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and drive performance
- Knowledge of quality control procedures
- High school diploma required, with 1‑2 years of technical or business school training preferred
- Training in a skilled trades area or equivalent technical training
- 5‑7 years of relevant experience required
