About the jobIn this role, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage organizational change, and ensure the effective delivery of technical services (a.o. corrective and preventive maintenance) through strong stakeholder collaboration. You will also oversee outsourcing contracts and service level agreements, support asset and maintenance planning using SAP and related systems and provide strategic direction while maintaining a broad overview of operational and future business needs.

- Operational Support Define, plan, manage and coordinate TS activities to ensure safe execution and delivery within time, budget and quality and demonstrate safety leadership
- Develop, manage and realize a year plan and budget for TS activities
- Provide concepts and plans for reliable and efficient operation of the Complex Organics Plant (COP) and the Research teams
- Coordinate the collection, interpretation and editing of process related data and developments and/or the execution of risk assessments of installations/equipment and issue advice for needed changes
- Maintain all site installations and equipment reliable and up to standard regulations, by Identifying opportunities and making suggestions for improvement in technical support processes and design work, strategy of control, installations, equipment and working processes and ensure and monitor implementation.
- Keep related working processes fit for use. Document activities performed on processes, installations and equipment and provide insights regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of reports and best practices.
- Master knowledge of technical discipline
- Adhere to Nouryon policies, guidelines, processes, methodologies, working methods and systems, as well as to local and European rules and regulations (e.g. Seveso)
- Participate in and execute value improving platforms/ practices (peer review, value engineering) and knowledge management
- Stimulate sharing and Continuous Improvement in an open atmosphere
- Ensure proper staffing, lead, coach, appraise and develop TS team members in a complex and demanding research/production environment
- Define and manage customer expectations; set up account management fit for use
- Responsible for compliancy with all rules and regulations with regards to workplace safety (ARBO) and HSE (both Nouryon and legal requirements) in an appropriate and efficient manner, in order to prevent serious incidents and incidents in general and more specifically as defined in the Seveso directive. This includes the good housekeeping for the own workplace.
- Bachelor's degree in a mechanical, process technology, chemical engineering or other applicable engineering discipline
- At least 10 years in a technical environment, as well as departmental and/or project management
- In setting up and planning asset and maintenance concepts with use of planning systems
- Language:
Fluent English
- Experience in setting up and planning asset and maintenance concepts using SAP systems
- Experience in developing outsourcing contracts and service level agreements (SLAs)
- Hands-on experience with SAP PM and other project management tools
- Experience working in a research environment and supporting organizational change initiatives
- A strong people leader with proven management capabilities and demonstrated safety leadership
- An effective communicator with excellent interpersonal, influencing, problem-solving and project management skills
- A results-oriented professional with a continuous improvement mindset and strong change management capabilities
- Someone with broad knowledge of technical services, including strategy and policy development
- Able to maintain a helicopter view while providing vision, direction and strategic guidance to the organization

We are offering a permanent position, on a full-time basis in Deventer. Manager Technical Services directly reports to the location manager Nouryon Deventer and is member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) and SLT-HSE. We have already identified the preferred candidate for the role.
