Position Overview
Lake Region State College (LRSC) seeks a qualified and motivated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Instructor/Program Coordinator to lead and develop the college’s MLT program. This position plays a critical role in shaping the next generation of laboratory professionals through high‑quality education, innovative instruction, and strong partnerships with clinical affiliates.
Location:
Preference will be given to candidates within commuting distance of Grand Forks, ND. Exceptionally qualified remote candidates may be considered.
Appointment Type:
Full‑time, 10‑month, benefited position.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
Background Check:
Required prior to employment.
- Salary: $50,000 – $67,000 per year, based on qualifications.

- Teach courses through both online and in‑person formats, including lectures, labs, and clinical sessions.
- Evaluate student achievement across content areas such as urinalysis & body fluids, hematology/hemostasis, immunohematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry.
- Supervise hands‑on lab experiences and provide academic mentoring.
- Develop and assess curriculum, policies, and program outcomes.
- Serve as liaison with clinical partners, coordinating student placements and maintaining collaborative relationships with hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.
- Manage program operations, including budgeting, recruitment, and retention initiatives.
- Promote career awareness and employability skills among students.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Current ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- Current North Dakota licensure.
- Teaching experience in post‑secondary education.
- Must meet faculty qualification standards per LRSC policy.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Three years of post‑secondary teaching experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
