- Engineering Technician III: $5,008 per month*
- Engineering Technician II: $4,505 per month*
- Engineering Technician I: $4,131 per month*
We are seeking a candidate with a passion for construction and engineering who enjoys working outdoors and has a strong understanding of technology to fill the role of engineering technician/construction technician. You will be responsible for:
- Conducting field inspections for all types of construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Working with equipment such as Robotic Total Station GPS, drones, and computer aided drafting software (Micro Station) to measure and calculate quantities and create reports and plan sheets for construction projects.
- Performing tests on road and bridge building materials to ensure they meet NDDOT specifications.
- Assisting project engineers with checking and organizing project final records and with district design work that requires Micro Station.
- Receiving training and support to excel in these tasks.
To be considered for an Engineering Technician III, you must have at least four years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed. College-level coursework and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Materials testing is preferred.
To be considered for an Engineering Technician II, you must have at least two years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed. College-level coursework and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Materials testing is preferred.
To be considered for an Engineering Technician I, you must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a basic understanding of the concepts needed for this type of work.
Additional requirements:
ability to work in all types of weather on uneven or slippery surfaces, lift up to 50 pounds and carry several items with a total weight of 50 pounds, and a valid North Dakota Class D driver s license to travel to project locations. Strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Word) are desired.
Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process, required job function testing and reference check.
