Transportation Engineer

Summary

Williston District, Construction Section, Western ND. This position will travel throughout Western North Dakota and be based out of the Williston, Dickinson, Minot, or Bismarck District office. Travel and overnight stays for the week may be required. On‑site work in the summer months could be in any one of the four districts listed.

• Transportation Engineer III: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; four years of professional‑level engineering work experience; successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam as specified by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors;
  Class D driver’s license.
• Transportation Engineer II: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; two years of professional‑level engineering work experience; eligibility to write the Fundamentals of Engineering exam as specified by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors;
  Class D driver’s license.
• Transportation Engineer I: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; eligibility to write the Fundamentals of Engineering exam as specified by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors;
  Class D driver’s license.

• Manage small and medium construction projects and serve as the main inspector on large projects.
• Monitor contractor operations and ensure projects are built according to plans and specifications.
• Design projects and prepare plan documents for district‑designed projects.
• Conduct large‑project inspections, substitute for project engineers when absent, perform bridge inspections, preliminary surveys, bridge deck evaluations, construction survey, and materials testing, along with other miscellaneous duties.

• Transportation Engineer III: $7,243 / month
• Transportation Engineer II: $5,999 / month
• Transportation Engineer I: $5,403 / month
