Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Pay Range: $24.02 - $36.03

The Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for the treatment of patients under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist in compliance with licensure standards. The assistant works with an interdisciplinary team contributing to patient goal development, identifying barriers to discharge, and assists in planning and organizing care.

• Assists the Occupational Therapist in performing evaluations, assessments and procedures.
• Orients patients, family and/or other appropriate parties to the purpose and procedures of the physical therapy evaluation and treatment.
• Provides appropriate patient/family education and teaching, under the supervision of a Therapist.
• Obtains and documents all required and pertinent patient information, including precautions, orders, and initial plan of care.
• Coordinates treatment schedules with disciplines using appropriate scheduling procedures.
• Identifies significant changes in patient’s condition and takes appropriate actions as evidenced in reporting, staffing consultations, and documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Occupational Therapy Assistant – Certified by the North Dakota State Board of Occupational Therapy, prior to start date.

Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy.

Minimum 1 year related experience.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
