Job Summary
Identifies opportunities for others to replace or upgrade server components. Validates cabling, checks network environment build and connectivity, and monitors and assigns work in a ticketing environment while mentoring less experienced technicians. Implements technical solutions, trains on advanced repair techniques, and serves as a technical liaison to resolve resiliency, reliability, and availability risks.
Key Responsibilities- Identify opportunities for component replacement or upgrade.
- Validate cabling, network build, and connectivity.
- Monitor and assign tickets, mentor technicians, and document solutions.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise and collaborate with technical and non‑technical teams.
- Guide and coach lower‑level technicians on best practices for power distribution, hardware replacement, and network configuration.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and MOPs for operational data‑center change control.
- Oversee safety, security, and compliance, including health‑and‑safety guidelines and local regulations.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to meet SLAs and quality standards.
- Train on advanced fix and repair techniques and conduct continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver solutions and provide support for critical objectives.
- Develop, share, and improve procedures to resolve routine and non‑routine issues.
- Engage in continuous learning and stay current with trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware systems and components.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- Interest in learning new data‑center concepts and technologies.
- Dependable, trustworthy, able to work independently and in a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb a 9‑ft ladder, stand, walk, and work 10–12 hour shifts.
- Experience with ticketing systems is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Client experience is preferred.
- Two‑year or four‑year degree or relevant work experience.
- Two years of data‑center experience; one year of development experience.
- Linux administration knowledge and command‑line proficiency.
- Data‑center networking knowledge.
- Experience in data‑center infrastructure projects.
- Two or more years of structured cabling, copper/fiber, and cable testing.
- Experience with cooling and electrical systems concepts inside a data center.
- Experience repairing Oracle servers is a bonus.
This is a 24/7/365 on‐site position that requires day/night shift work, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel. The role also requires consent for biometric data processing for identity verification and access control.
