Location: Altru Hospital | Devils Lake 1031 7th Street Northeast Devils Lake, ND 58301

Pay Range: $33.80 – $50.69 per hour, depending on level (RN I, RN II, RN III).

Qualifications
  • RN I: ASN
  • RN II:
    • 6+ years RN experience with an ASN/ADN degree OR
    • 3+ years RN experience with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • RN III:
    • 12+ years RN experience with an ASN/ADN OR
    • 6+ years RN experience with a BSN OR
    • Masters or Doctor of Nursing
Essential Job Functions
  • Performs daily rounds on all patients, assuring quality customer service by coordinating and taking action on any requirements not met.
  • Develops a plan of care based on assessment that reflects the patient’s physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental and rehabilitative needs.
  • Assess the patient’s condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals, including discharge planning.
  • Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient’s self-report/symptoms of pain promptly and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.
  • Identifies early warning signs of a change in a patient’s condition and responds appropriately, including contacting responsible clinicians as indicated; assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments.
  • Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate multidisciplinary team member and records those accurately and concisely; ensures interventions or referrals are made promptly.
  • Completes and submits all incident reports (patient, visitor, staff) prior to the completion of each shift.
  • Establishes and maintains communication and utilizes educational opportunities with patients and other significant individuals.
  • Begins discharge planning, appropriate education and counseling as early as possible to optimize patient/family understanding; evaluates and documents according to standard operating procedure.
  • Assigns or delegates, within scope of practice, education and experience, responsibility for nursing interventions to other persons who have the necessary skills and competence to accomplish safely.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

  • Registered Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement | Prior to start date | HR Primary Sources
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 days of start date | Learning Management System
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 6 months of start date | Learning Management System
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) | American Academy of Pediatrics (RQI Partners) | Within 6 months of start date | Learning Management System
  • STABLE | S.T.A.B.L.E. | Within 12 months of start date | Learning Management System
Notes
  • Temporary RN license accepted prior to start.
  • Must hold an unencumbered nursing license prior to start.
  • RN Residency Cohort only: ND RN Graduate Work Authorization considered prior to start; valid up to 90 days after issue or upon notification of NCLEX results.
