Job Summary

Altru Hospital, 1031 7th Street Northeast, Devils Lake, ND 58301. Position:
Registered Nurse (full‑time, part‑time, or casual) on various shifts.

RN I: $33.80–$50.69
RN II: $35.49–$53.23
RN III: $37.26–$55.89

• RN I: ASN.
• RN II: 6+ years RN experience with an ASN/ADN degree, OR 3+ years RN experience with a BSN.
• RN III: 12+ years RN experience with an ASN/ADN, OR 6+ years RN experience with a BSN, OR a Master’s/Doctorate in Nursing.

• Provide direct nursing care following organizational policies and protocols.
• Maintain necessary knowledge and skills for appropriate patient care based on age.
• Coordinate patient care within the interdisciplinary team and provide patient education to ensure safe discharge.
• Perform daily patient rounds, ensuring quality customer service and addressing unmet needs.
• Develop a plan of care based on assessment, addressing physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs.
• Set goals, prescribe nursing actions, and include discharge planning in the care plan.
• Assess, intervene, and reassess pain promptly, following standard operating procedures.
• Identify early warning signs of deterioration and respond appropriately, contacting clinicians as needed.
• Assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments.
• Report observations accurately to multidisciplinary team members and record them.
• Ensure prompt interventions or referrals and complete incident reports before shift end.
• Communicate with patients and significant others, providing education and counseling.
• Delegate nursing interventions within scope of practice to qualified staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or needed by the department/organization.

• Registered Nurse – North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement, before starting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association (AHA), within 90 days of start.
• Temporary RN license accepted prior to start; must hold an unencumbered nursing license before commencement.
