Salary: £37,870.30 per annum

Contract:

Permanent – 39hrs per week

• Monday to Friday – Seeking an experienced and dedicated Carpenter with Locksmith skills to join our Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Erlestoke, a Category C adult male prison.

As a Carpenter inc Locksmith you will co‑operate with a multidisciplinary team of Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators to maintain and secure the prison environment.

• Operate and maintain associated power tools and machinery.
• Carry out carpentry, locksmithing and maintenance duties within health and safety standards.
• Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance projects.
• Support the team in ensuring a safe and secure environment for prisoners and staff.

• Substantiated experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in the use of power tools and related machinery.
• Basic IT skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
• Current First Aid at Work qualification.
• City & Guilds, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Carpentry or equivalent experience.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.

Annual holiday entitlement: 25 days plus bank holidays.
