As an EHS Specialist you will implement the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program at the facility level. You will serve as a member of the site leadership team and partner with operations and human resources. You will need knowledge of applicable EHS regulations, safe work practices, and environmental recordkeeping. Strong communication, training, and leadership skills are required to interact successfully with all organizational levels.
Responsibilities- Coordinate with the site team to implement the EHS Program and its policies.
- Audit the effectiveness of the site EHS program, including annual corporate audits.
- Provide EHS training to all site personnel.
- Maintain safety and environmental records.
- Maintain workers’ compensation files and investigate incidents.
- Generate internal and external reports as required.
- Execute the site inspection program in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Accompany state, federal, and local inspectors, and respond to inquiries or complaints.
- Act as local EHS expert, providing guidance and working closely with site leadership.
- Participate in corporate and nationwide EHS projects and support multiple facilities as needed.
- BS in Safety/Environmental Science or related field with at least 2 years of manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in compliance management under a Title V Air Permit facility.
- Experience managing a full Respiratory Protection Program and Hearing Conservation Program.
- Familiarity with Powered Industrial Truck safety and NFPA 70E Electrical Safety.
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and goal‑setting skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication; ability to present and train audiences.
- Accurate record‑keeping.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
