Work with one of the UK's leading independent forklift specialists.

Are you an experienced Forklift Engineer looking for a role where you're trusted to manage your own workload, paid from the moment you leave home, and given the opportunity to develop your skills on the latest lithium-powered forklift technology?

Alecto Recruitment is working with a well-established forklift maintenance and hire company that is expanding its engineering team across the UK.

Engineers are required to travel nationwide. Most work is carried out across your local region, with subcontractors typically covering areas south of Northampton and north of Newcastle. Overnight stays are very uncommon and are only required for occasional larger projects where work is expected to last several days.

The Package
  • £16.50 per hour, increasing to £17.50 per hour after successful completion of probation
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate (subject to business requirements)
  • Company vehicle with reasonable private use
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Company pension
  • Private medical cover
  • Full manufacturer training on lithium-powered forklift technology
  • Stable, long-term career with an established business
The Role

As a Mobile Forklift Engineer, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks at customer sites.

Your duties will include:

  • Routine servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
  • Carrying out breakdown repairs
  • Completing service documentation using a PDA
  • Delivering excellent customer service on site
  • Managing your own daily schedule across your designated area
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience repairing and servicing forklift trucks
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills
  • City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Professional approach with excellent customer service skills
Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a respected employer that genuinely invests in its engineers. You'll receive specialist training on modern lithium-powered equipment while enjoying the autonomy of a field-based role, door-to-door pay, and a company vehicle.

Whether you're currently working on forklifts, plant equipment, access equipment or similar materials handling machinery, we'd like to hear from you.
