Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced heavy Civil Construction Manager (CM) for the Southern California Region, covering Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Bernardino. Work may occur outside this region. The CM performs construction administration for solid waste facility capital improvement projects, monitoring, documenting, scheduling, directing, and communicating with clients, contractors, sub‑consultants, and Tetra Tech personnel. The CM assists the project manager in ensuring projects arrive within budget and scope, identifying and troubleshooting problems in the field, and ensuring project safety.
The pay scale for this position is $125 K to $155 K annually, based on qualifications and experience.

- Track construction budgets, prepare, and review pay applications
- Establish positive client relations and new business development
- Generate detailed daily logs that account for the work performed for each construction day
- Effectively and proactively help forecast and track construction schedules
- Coordinate with clients, subs, engineers, and contractors
- 10 to 15 years’ experience with construction administration / resident engineering with heavy civil construction (experience with solid waste facilities is a plus), two (2) years’ experience given for bachelor’s degree in related field
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (prefer a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, geology, or related field of study)
- Ability to perform planning, organization, schedule management, and cost control
- Maintain positive client interaction
- Travel for extended periods within CA for up to six (6) months
- Walk long distances, up and down steeply sloped landfills and outdoor terrain outdoors
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non‑consistent basis
- Pass a company paid, baseline health physical and drug screening
- Ability to obtain, and keep in good standing, a valid driver’s license
- Available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
- Ability to apply applicable environmental regulations and regulatory requirements to projects
- Ability to read plans and specifications
- Prepare detailed field reports and effectively communicate in writing to multiple audiences on time sensitive issues
- Work in a stable construction field that provides continuity of client relationships and sites that experience construction on a regular basis
- Field work vehicle available for commuting to and from site, cell phone, and paid overtime
- Work with a team of dedicated professionals that have on average worked together over 10 years
