Geotechnical/Soils Technician
Location:
Diamond Bar, CA.
The primary focus of this position is to perform grading observation, field fill placement, and compaction testing services. Additional geotechnical field tasks may include permeability/percolation testing, slope inclinometer monitoring, pile and tieback/soil nail installation observations, landfill liner installation, construction vibration monitoring, floor level surveys, field gradation testing, site reconnaissance, and assistance with field investigations. Responsibilities also involve field construction quality assurance activities and the preparation of daily field reports for engineering submittals.
Familiarity with public works and state agency projects, as well as basic laboratory and concrete deputy services, is welcome.
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification
- Data entry and basic computer and math skills
- Effective oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel within the southwest
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather, travel by foot over rough terrain, and lift at least 40 pounds
