Geoscience Drafter
Tetra Tech, SWW is seeking a part-time Geoscience Drafter with extensive geotechnical background and knowledge to support our geotechnical group in Diamond Bar, CA. Under direct supervision from a Senior Geologist, Engineer, or Project Manager, the selected candidate will provide support to the team for drawing layouts, details, diagrams, and sketches, as well as provide supporting software computational work for report and field work preparation/analyses.
The pay scale for this position is $30.00-$40.00 an hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Your Role:
- Use AutoCAD software to develop various drawings (e.g., plates, figures, illustrations, cross-sections, plans, details)
- Develop cross-sections and diagram layouts computing various dimensions, angles, and other data etc. as necessary
- Analyze large-scale construction plans, topographic datasets, hand drawn field maps, and historical references
- Complete finished drawings and graphics for submittals to clients
- Check drawings for completeness and accuracy
- Assist with development and maintenance of AutoCAD/drafting standards and templates
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- An Associate's degree or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or training in geotechnical or related fields
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D and similar software
- Excellent technical design skills
