Do you have a passion for connecting teens and young adults with books, technology, and engaging programs? The City of Dickinson is seeking a creative, customer‑focused Teen & Young Adult Services Librarian to inspire lifelong learning and build meaningful community connections.

Pay: $24.00 – $26.50 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule:

Full‑time; includes evenings and weekends as needed.

• Provide exceptional customer service at the circulation desk
• Assist patrons with technology, research, and library resources
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate programs and activities for teens and young adults
• Promote and market library services, resources, and events
• Provide readers’ advisory services and recommend materials
• Assist with collection development and maintenance
• Troubleshoot basic computer hardware and software issues
• Maintain records and statistics within the integrated library system
• Create publications, promotional materials, and website content
• Conduct community outreach and build partnerships that support library services
• Supervise and provide guidance to library assistants during evening and weekend hours
• Assist with administrative duties including reports, correspondence, and departmental records
• Support library operations and provide backup assistance as needed

• Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Education, Humanities, Library Science, or a related field
• One to three years of public‑library, technical‑services, circulation, customer‑service, or related experience preferred
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer‑service skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience working with teens and young adults is highly desirable

• Master of Library Science (MLS)
• North Dakota Library Media Certification (LM03)

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional special events
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties requiring standing, walking, bending, and reaching
