Based out of Williston, Dickinson, Minot, or Bismarck district office. Travel and overnight stays for the week may be required. On-site work in the summer months could be in any one of the four districts listed.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Transportation Engineer in Williston District, you will manage small and medium construction projects and be the main inspector on large projects. Primary duties include:
- Manage construction projects, monitor contractor operations, and assure projects are built according to plans and specs.
- Design projects and prepare plan documents for district-designed projects.
- Perform large project inspections and fill in for project engineer in their absence.
- Conduct bridge inspections, preliminary surveys, bridge deck evaluations, construction survey and materials testing.
- Perform other miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other applicable engineering degree, and
- Four years of professional-level engineering work experience, and
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam as specified by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and
- Requires a class D driver’s license for travel to meetings and project locations.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other applicable engineering degree, and
- Two years of professional-level engineering work experience, and
- Eligibility to write the Fundamentals of Engineering exam as specified by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and
- Requires a class D driver’s license for travel to meetings and project locations.
