Pay package:
Based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
- Provide care and support for women before, during, and after delivery.
- Assist physicians when epidurals or pain medications are administered, episiotomies are performed, or when the patient requires preparation for a cesarean delivery.
- Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
- Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
- Check cervix periodically to monitor progression and lack of dilation.
- Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after the birthing process.
- Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
- Provide immediate care of newborn.
RNs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty, and be able to lift 20 pounds comfortably (lifting patients up to 50 pounds may be required). They must also possess strong skills for coping with stress and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
QualificationsRequired certifications and experience:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP, 3 years recent acute care experience
Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
