NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT
Fit testing and facial hair requirements apply.
Face masks may require fit testing for clinicians with facial hair.
Contract cancellation may occur if facial hair cannot be removed.
Number of Beds: 17 beds (14 inpatient, 3 observation)
Nurse:
Patient Ratios: 1:4 during the day and 1:5 at night
Common diagnoses/Types of patients include adults and pediatric patients.
Common conditions treated include UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD.
RNs are not required to titrate drips.
Common titratable or set rate drips include electrolytes and hypertensive medications.
Diuretics are infrequently administered continuously.
Charge nurses are present on each shift and take assignments.
Nurse aids/patient care techs are available on this unit with a ratio of 2:15 during the day and 1 aid at night.
Pediatricians are available on call for pediatric patients.
Respiratory Therapy primarily manages BiPap and troubleshooting of equipment.
ICU monitors are used; nurses apply telemetry to the patient.
Shifts follow a 7-7 schedule with self-scheduling available.
Weekend requirements are as needed with no holiday requirements.
Floating to other units may be required for one-on-one patient care.
Scrub color is navy blue.
Attributes that assist in nurse success in this unit include communication, motivation, and approachability.
Collaboration and teamwork are essential.
Documentation may be complex at times.
Two weeks of RTO needed upfront, with no additional requests accepted after initial submission.
Cancellation Policy:
Up to 4 shifts can be canceled during the assignment.
Charting System: MEDITECH
BSN is not required.
