The NDSU Dickinson Research Extension Center (DREC) is seeking to hire a highly motivated individual that will assist with collecting data and observations for research on crop production systems in southwest North Dakota. The primary focus of this position will be working with small grains in a controlled environment setting. Responsibilities will also include assisting in activities required for the successful execution of field-based agronomy demonstrations and trials.
These responsibilities will include note taking, data entry and other duties required to meet research project goals. This candidate must be able to carry out these and other duties as assigned with general and minimal guidance from other members of the DREC's agronomy staff.
This position is based in Dickinson, ND. If employment extends into the summer months, housing is available if needed.
Work Schedule:
The regular work schedule is flexible, but ideally, the candidate will be able to work approximately 19.5 hours per week with the possibility of temporary, full-time hours extending through the summer months. A possible start date for this person could be March 2, 2026. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. The candidate will be required to check in/out each day that is worked using the HCM employee self-serve web clock portal.
Advertised Pay:
The advertised pay rate is $19.00+ per hour, depending upon experience.
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Demonstrated computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and also as a team member
- Complete background check
- Working toward a degree in crop science, agronomy or related fields
- Experience working with crops grown in southwest North Dakota
