The Dickinson Research Extension Center (DREC) is hiring a motivated individual to assist with various research projects in the Center's Agronomy Department. The main focus will be collecting data and observations for research on crop production systems in southwest North Dakota and working with small grains in a controlled environmental setting. Responsibilities include assisting in activities required for the successful execution of field-based agronomy demonstrations and trials, including note taking, data entry, and other duties required to meet the project goals.
Ideally, the candidate would start work as early as April 1 and work through mid‑August or longer.
The regular work schedule is flexible, working Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. The hired candidate would work full time for 20 weeks and would need to reduce hours to 19.5 hours per week for the remaining weeks.
Advertised PayStarting pay rate is $19.00 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications- At least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Demonstrated computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Complete a background check
- Working toward a degree in crop science, agronomy or related fields
- Possess an interest in working with crops grown in southwest North Dakota
