Work Arrangement:
On Site

This is a 3rd shift position - 10:30pm - 7am Sunday - Thursday. Job Purpose

Support manufacturing operations by designing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting PLC, CNC, robotic, and automated production systems. Ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while supporting product quality, continuous improvement initiatives, and compliance with all company safety standards.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Manage PLC and automation projects from design and programming through implementation, testing, and startup while ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain PLC, HMI, robotic, and CNC programs to improve equipment reliability, productivity, product quality, and operator safety.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce downtime, improve throughput, eliminate waste, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system, automation, and production equipment issues to minimize interruptions and maintain product specifications.
  • Lead processor upgrades, system enhancements, and equipment integration projects to improve performance, capability, and long-term reliability.
  • Ensure all equipment modifications meet applicable safety standards, machine guarding requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and electrical codes.
  • Support quality initiatives by investigating process variations, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring equipment consistently produces products within established specifications.
  • Develop and maintain PLC architecture, network communications, Ethernet, Control Net, Remote I/O, and related automation systems.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and EHS teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Participate in root cause analysis activities for equipment failures, safety incidents, quality concerns, and recurring production issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, programming backups, schematics, and system changes to support equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement through leadership, training, and employee engagement.
Key Safety and Quality Expectations
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Champion safe work practices and proactively identify and correct hazards.
  • Utilize Lockout/Tagout procedures when troubleshooting, servicing, or modifying equipment.
  • Ensure automation systems support product quality requirements and prevent defects.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions resulting from safety audits, quality findings, or equipment failures.
