Emergency Medicine Physician Job Details

Location:

Dickson, Tennessee 37055 – Tennessee emergency medicine jobs in a welcoming rural community with scenic parks and easy access to Nashville.

Setting:  Emergency Department (ED) in a 158-bed hospital

Employment Type:

Locum tenens (Travel contract)

Start Date:

March 1, 2026

End Date:  May 24, 2026

Duration:  12 weeks (potential extension available)

Shifts:

Morning, Mid, and Night; 10-hour shifts

Hours per Week:  36

Rotation:  Rotational schedule, no call required

Support Staff:  Nurses, Techs, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

Estimated Weekly Salary:  $6,350 - $7,520

Emergency Medicine Physician Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM required)

Eligible for emergency department privileges (clean file preferred)

Proficient in standard ED procedures

Willingness to complete a 2-day shadow and orientation

Case logs may be required (to be confirmed)

Emergency Medicine Physician Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care to a diverse rural patient population

Manage an average daily census of 101 patients and 22.4 daily admissions

Perform standard emergency department procedures in a non-trauma center

Collaborate with nurses, techs, and APPs to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Participate in rotational scheduling for morning, mid, and night shifts

Work in an accredited chest pain and stroke center

Engage in consults as needed
