Sorting Operations & Safety Technician

Responsibilities

• Helps maintain a safe and healthy work environment for sorting, cutting, rectification and wrapper areas.
• Ensures all safety protocols throughout the plant are adhered to.
• Follows the Quality Management System, which is certified to ISO 9001:2008 for all sorting operations.
• Performs necessary LOTO audits and assists in delivering weekly safety training materials.
• Ensures product specifications are followed throughout the sorting department.
• Responsible for reviewing BC and Pack‑Stock audits with the operations and audit departments.
• Assist the Sorting Supervisor in coordinating the operations of sorting, cutting, rectification, and wrapper areas.
• Responsible for training all new hires in safety, quality policy and management systems, as well as operations of all sorting equipment and product knowledge.
• Responsible for working with maintenance team to develop and sustain operator basic care programs.
• Fill‑in and relieve responsibility for all sorting job functions.
• Understanding of pallet and box LGV programs and using the system to assist the plant LGV coordinator with scheduling duties.
