TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR – Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Dickson, Tennessee.

Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, providing pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education. Circulating OR Nurses work within the operating suite but outside the sterile field;
Scrub OR Nurses handle and prepare instruments within the sterile field.

Duties include:

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Serve as the communication liaison between patients’ families and the operating team.
• Ensure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed, teaching patients and families how to manage medication and home care needs.

• Respond to comfort and safety needs of the patient.
• Accurate care and handling of specimens.
• Monitor equipment used during surgery.
• Inventory surgical items pre‑and post‑procedure.

• Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Inventory surgical items pre‑and post‑procedure.

• Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care.
• Help control bleeding.
• Suture patients following surgery.

Stand and walk for long periods. Bend, lean and stoop easily. Lift up to 20 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds when required. Possible exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases.

ACLS, BLS, 1 Year experience. Additional certifications may be required before assignment.
