- Number of Beds: LDRP 9 beds, OBED 1 bed, NICU 4 beds, 1 OR suite
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 active labors, inductions, C-sections, couplet care 1:3, newborns 1:1 until stable, NICU 1:3 intermediate care, but 2 NICU nurses must be in the unit if there are
- Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): no techs or unit secretaries
- Type of equipment: CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele‑med robot for neonatologist, bili‑blankets, PCA pumps
- Documentation system:
Meditech and CPN - Scheduling requirements: FT 3 shifts per wk., rotating weekend and holidays, PRNs to complete
- Floating policy: regular staff, if scheduled and not needed on the unit, are expected to float anywhere within the facility as needed, some staff are cross‑trained to float between LDRP & NICU
- Patient Experience requirements: daily rounding on all patients, SAFETY rounding
- Certifications:
Joint Commission, Stoke Center, Level II Trauma, Level II NICU
Must have
:
Labor and delivery experience including the ability to labor and recover the mother as well as receive and transition the newborn including assessment. Experience with shoulder dystocia, PP hemorrhage, and other potential OB emergencies preferred.
Advanced skills needed
:
Fetal monitoring education, experience with inductions (Pitocin, cervidil)
C-sections, circumcisions, intra‑uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries
Certifications RequiredBLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training
Dress Code(Required uniform)
Pink and/or brown scrubs required per the infant security policy for the unit

Any additional information that would entice a worker to select your unit for their assignment- The unit has 6 seasoned, very experienced RNs that have approx. 30 years experience each. They are great resources and preceptors.
- There are several other nurses who have been here in the 7-10 year range that are also very experienced and competent.
- The unit functions a great team and are very willing to help.
- Because this is a LDRP unit, it is a great way to gain experience for labor, delivery, post‑partum, and neonate care.
