Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Labor and Delivery Nurse

Provide specialized nursing care in a Level II Labor and Delivery unit, including managing labor, postpartum recovery, and neonatal care, with an emphasis on safety and patient comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor fetal and maternal status continuously using advanced fetal monitoring techniques.
• Perform labor and delivery procedures such as C-sections, inductions, and assisted births.
• Stabilize and transition mothers and newborns, ensuring proper assessments and documentation.
• Respond promptly to OB emergencies like shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage.
• Collaborate with unit team to deliver safe, efficient patient care in a high-acuity environment.
• Maintain compliance with policies, certifications, and equipment protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license with a minimum of 2 years' labor and delivery experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with fetal monitoring, inductions, and OB emergency procedures.
• Possess required certifications: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring training.
• Have experience with neonatal care, including NICU policies and procedures.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as per scheduling requirements.
• Show strong communication, teamwork, and assessment skills.
