Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Assignment Duration:
This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule:

Full-Time, 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays. Shift hours are from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns in a Labor and Delivery setting. The nurse will be responsible for labor management, post-partum care, and neonatal assessment. The unit is equipped with advanced technology, including central monitoring systems and tele-med capabilities, ensuring a high standard of patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess the condition of mothers in labor and recovery.
• Provide couplet care for mothers and their newborns, including assessments and transition protocols.
• Manage and respond to potential OB emergencies such as shoulder dystocia and post-partum hemorrhage.
• Conduct fetal monitoring and administer inductions using Pitocin and cervidil.
• Perform procedures such as C-sections, circumcisions, and vacuum or forceps-assisted deliveries.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Fetal Monitoring training required.
• Labor and delivery nursing experience is a must, including labor management and new born care.
