DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position on a LDRP unit requiring fetal monitoring certification and NRP.
Details- Work in the Women's Services unit, a Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) unit with 9 LDRP beds, 1 OB ED bed, 4 NICU beds, and 1 OR suite
- Patient ratios include 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections, 1:3 for couplet care, 1:1 for newborns until stable, and 1:3 for NICU intermediate care
- No unit techs or secretaries available
- Utilizes CPN central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist consults, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps
- Documents in Meditech and CPN systems
- Full-time schedule of 3 shifts per week including rotating weekends and holidays
- Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Floating expected facility-wide when not needed on the unit, with some staff cross-trained between LDRP and NICU
- Procedures performed on the unit include C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries
- Active RN license (TN or compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
- BLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition), and Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN Intermediate/Advanced or NCCEFM) required
- Experience laboring and recovering mothers as well as receiving and transitioning newborns including assessment required
- Experience with inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil) required
- Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other OB emergencies preferred
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Perform daily rounding on all patients including safety rounding
- Pink and/or brown scrubs required per unit infant security policy
- Facility holds Joint Commission, Stroke Center, Level II Trauma, and Level II NICU certifications
- Join a team of 6 seasoned RNs with approximately 30 years of experience each, along with several nurses with 7-10 years of experience, all serving as strong resources and preceptors
- Great opportunity to gain cross-training experience in labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care due to LDRP unit structure
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, no local candidates accepted
