We are seeking an Intermediate Level Material Handler to support our warehouse operations.
Primary ObjectiveOperates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey orders to the packing station or shipping area.
Major Function and Scope- Operates forklift and/or crane equipment
- Keys orders into Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Verifies stock availability and audits orders for accuracy
- Conveys picked orders to packing station or shipping area
- Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to the supervisor
- Follows standard operating procedures
- Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Accountability Policy and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to management
- Keeps area safe, clean and organized
- Operates wireless devices (tablet, scanners) and automated equipment
- Conducts daily cycle counts
- Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material
- Performs other related duties as required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certified Sit‑Down Forklift Operator
- 1 or more years of previous distribution/warehouse experience
- Minimum of 6 months of previous stand‑up forklift or order picker equipment experience
- No experience required for pallet jack
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good record‑keeping skills
- Good listening skills
- Accurate measurement capability
- Ability to understand and speak basic English
- Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner
- Must be Dal‑Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks
The job requires regular standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional sitting, climbing or balancing. It may involve lifting and moving up to 75 pounds. The average pick weight ranges from 20-70 lbs, with 65% of picks weighing 50-70 lbs and 35% weighing 20-40 lbs. The position involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, a wide range of temperatures, and loud noise.
