Forklift Operator, Material Handler, Warehouse Associate
Position Summary
Dal‑Tile is seeking an intermediate level Material Handler to join our team. The role involves stocking, checking, wrapping, and loading and unloading materials.
HoursMonday‑Friday, 6 am‑2:30 pm, with possible overtime and Saturday work.
Primary ObjectiveOperates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to the packing station or shipping area.
Major Functions and Scope- Performs a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.), move, store, and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts.
- Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
- Operates forklift equipment.
- Maintains a clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom and general office maintenance, etc.
- Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience;
Certified Sit‑Down Forklift Operator. - 1 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience.
- Must have a minimum of 6 months previous stand‑up forklift or order picker equipment experience.
- No experience required for pallet jack.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good record keeping skills.
- Good listening skills.
- Accurate measurement capability.
- Ability to understand and speak basic English.
- Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Must be Dal‑Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
The associate is required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; sit, climb or balance occasionally; lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; and pick an average of 25 pieces per hour, with 65% of picks weighing 50‑70 lb and 35% weighing 20‑40 lb. The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, a wide range of temperatures, and a loud noise level.
