Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Trainer to join our Tile Distribution team. The Trainer will provide a variety of support such as creating training materials, coaching team members on PIT equipment and safety, and delivering on‑job training (OJT) to new hires and tenured employees.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide on‑job training (OJT) to new hires and existing employees.
- Become a subject‑matter expert on operational and safety procedures.
- Observe, coach, and evaluate employees on the warehouse floor.
- Perform warehouse‑related tasks such as equipment operation and material handling as needed.
- Assess prospective candidates on equipment and ensure skill knowledge.
- Work flexible shifts and support RDC/PDC facilities.
- Tailor training materials and provide direction to trainees.
- Assess, coach, train, and certify team members on powered industrial equipment usage and safety.
- Lead and participate in OJT training within a warehouse/logistics environment.
- Collaborate with Team Leads, Supervisors, Management, and HR to determine individual training needs.
- Develop teaching aids based on the workforce’s needs.
- Oversee and facilitate testing and evaluation procedures for training completion.
- Conduct training sessions covering orientation, OJT, RDTs, software, customer service, health and safety practices, refresher training, promotional development, upgrading, and retraining.
- Report on the progress of employees during training periods.
- Communicate clearly with management through email, verbal, and other channels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) or more years of distribution/warehouse experience (preferably Dal‑Tile).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good record‑keeping abilities.
- Strong listening skills.
- Accurate measurement capability.
- Basic English proficiency.
Physical Requirements
The position requires standing, using hands and arms, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, occasional sitting or climbing, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, high noise levels, and a wide range of temperatures.
