We are hiring a Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our busy, close-knit team at a highly rated, long-established independent specialist in Didcot. The Rewards- Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per year (Positioned right within our standard bracket depending on experience and qualification level).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:30—enjoy a stable, standard 40-hour week with strictly no weekend shifts.

Your RoleAs a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Didcot workshop, you will:
- Carry out routine vehicle servicing
, safety health checks, and general mechanical maintenance across a wide variety of makes and models. - Use up-to-date diagnostic tools and computer scanners to efficiently troubleshoot and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
- Complete thorough maintenance, diagnostic, and preparation work
, ensuring consistently high first-time fix quality standards. - Work productively alongside a skilled team of motor mechanics to maintain a smooth and efficient workshop flow.
- Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent time-served experience). F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
- Experience: A proven track record working as a Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, or Service Technician in a professional workshop environment.
- Licensing: A full UK driving licence is required.
An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not essential. - Equipment: Must possess your own hand tools to manage daily repair tasks effectively.
- Key Strengths: A reliable, self-motivated team player with great attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Located in Didcot, our workshop facility offers a quick and straightforward daily commute for candidates travelling from Abingdon, Wantage, Wallingford, Oxford, Reading, High Wycombe, and surrounding Oxfordshire areas.
