Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

You will keep the plant safe, reliable and running, with a healthy mix of planned work and fault finding. It is hands on, varied and it matters. What you will be doing:
- Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance across the site
- Completing visual inspections, reporting findings and making repairs
- Diagnosing and repairing faults using electrical repair and test equipment
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and emergency call outs
- Running weekly, monthly and six-monthly planned maintenance checks
- Diagnosing PLC control level issues
- Carrying out root cause analysis and keeping accurate repair records
- Working closely with production to keep downtime to a minimum What you will bring:
- A time served, dual trained electrical and mechanical engineer with industrial experience - C&G or NVQ, 18th Edition or equivalent
- Experience with motor controls, plus temperature and pressure sensing and control systems
- Planned preventative maintenance experience
- Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read electrical drawings
- Working knowledge of bearings, belt drives, couplings, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics and hydraulics - A safety-first mindset and a good level of computer literacy The shifts:
This is a four-week rotation of 12-hour shifts, 7am to 7pm on days and 7pm to 7am on nights. Weeks one and three are Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Weeks two and four are Wednesday and Thursday. Days run in weeks one and two, nights in weeks three and four. That is 84 hours per fortnight, with overtime at time and a half after 72 hours.
