Role Overview

As a Field Merchandiser, you'll work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, establish retailer relationships, and serve as the face of Hallmark. You’ll collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support fellow team members with seasonal resets and installations when needed.

Salary and Schedule
  • Your starting hourly pay rate will be $16.90–$18.90 depending on your skills and experience.
  • We provide paid training, delivered through live, hands‑on instruction and virtual classroom training.
  • Hallmark part‑time employees are offered voluntary benefits that include medical, dental, vision, etc.
  • Eligible Employees receive annual pay increases.
  • This is a Part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
  • Average weekly hours for this position are between 11–12 hours per week

  • Availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends, is required.
  • Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
Your Role and Responsibilities

You will perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers. The role consists of three major components:

  • Day‑to‑day engagement: Using the mobile device provided by Hallmark, restock, organize, and monitor the inventory of Hallmark products, while communicating with your supervisor, reporting time, providing feedback, and answering surveys. Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
  • Holiday support: During peak seasons such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, additional days and extended hours during the work week may be required, including the actual holiday for some occasions.
  • Department resets: Participate in installations and various tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections. Typical assignments are notified two weeks in advance and may include evenings or weekends.
  • Team collaboration: As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you are part of a network of merchandisers who often support other team members as needed in their territories.
Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding job that requires high energy and urgency. You will work on the sales floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds, and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You may be required to kneel, squat, walk, stand, climb stairs or stair ladders.

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Capability to lift and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to operate a digital handheld device to open and read documents.
  • Access to a Wi‑Fi network and the internet.
  • Access to consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
