As a Supervisory Contract Specialist
, you will be responsible for management, administration, and technical direction of a team of contract specialists, contracting officers, and/or business operations specialists. You will assign work based on priorities and capabilities of the employee.

  This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within the Office of Contracting and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
• Provides administrative and technical supervision that is necessary for accomplishing the work of the division such as serving as contracting officer with signatory authority for significant good or services.
• Complete authority for all contractual actions and phases of the contracts including initial planning, requirements definition, product development, testing full production, software support, technical data, training and equipment.
• Performs administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff that are supervised, including established guidelines and performance expectations for staff members.
• Resolves informal complaints and grievances; develops work improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary; effect disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated in this area.
• Serves as an expert in functional areas of procurement, e.g., pre-award issues or prices/cost analysis and post award issues, responsible for providing expert technical advice and guidance, staff coordination, and consultation.
