Position: Retail Sales Associate - 0103

Full‑Time Retail Sales Associate

$15.50 to $18.50 per hour. Commission structure that pays for every transaction processed.

Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $1.00 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates at pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate works with the store staff to provide customer service on both lending and retail sides of the business. The associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions, assisting with customer inquiries and resolving issues.

Employees work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

The position offers an hourly wage, plus commission based on productivity. Pay will be based on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and interacts with all customers to build rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
  • Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
  • Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains displays.
  • Performs sales and loan transactions per policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles all cash and negotiable items per policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Answers incoming calls per company standards.
  • Communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, using respectful and effective communication tools.
  • Partners with all employees to create a positive customer experience.
  • Successfully completes assigned training.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from external storage.
  • Minimum age 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team‑oriented.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient basic math calculations.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

Bilingual applicants are encouraged.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on personal performance gross profit. More details will be provided during the interview process.
