Position: PHYS. ED. TEACHER

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate educational needs of students and modify course curriculum as needed.
  • Prepare class lessons appropriate to current school assignment and the needs of the students in assigned classes.
  • Provide direct instruction to students.
  • Attend regularly scheduled faculty meetings.
  • Serve as a member of professional committees formed to address school and student issues.
  • Serve as a member of the Committee on Special Education upon invitation.
  • Evaluate student progress on a regular basis.
  • Maintain updated student grades on digital platform.
  • Prepare report cards and progress reports on digital platform.
  • Prepare goals and objectives for the student’s IEP.
  • Implement program to carry out the student’s IEP.
  • Supervise all students in class.
  • Take responsibility for overall classroom management and environment.
  • Complete informational, behavioral, and incident reports when necessary.
  • Assist classroom aide in tracking positivity points.
  • Monitor classroom aide and assign related responsibilities.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, driver’s license, and fingerprinting as required by the program.
  • Compliance with health regulations for physical/mantoux testing and COVID vaccinations.
  • Attendance of TCI class for certification/re-certification and passing the required test.

Education

Bachelor’s or better.
