Description

The City of Dixon is looking to fill two (2) vacancies for a Departmental Intern for the Engineering Department! This is a great opportunity for Civil Engineering students currently working towards an engineering career who would like to obtain paraprofessional experience at a Public Sector agency. The Engineering/Utilities Department is responsible for the design of residential and commercial developments, construction oversight of infrastructure within the City Right-of-Way, and operation and maintenance of utilities used, owned, and enjoyed by the public.

The utility infrastructure includes the municipal water distribution system/facilities, storm drainage collection system/facilities, sewer collection system, and wastewater treatment facility.

This position will perform a variety of entry-level paraprofessional work which may involve research, data collection, investigation, report, and materials preparation, record keeping, and plans evaluation and processing, database maintenance, drafting, wastewater flow studies, measure and calculate project quantities, hydraulic and other analysis and assistance with general office and field tasks.

Length of Employment:
Temporary Employment for a duration of 6-12 months. Subject to change as deemed necessary.
