Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team at Webster County High School as a High School MSD Teacher. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role requires collaboration with other educators, staff, and families to ensure that each student receives personalized attention and resources to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Create and maintain a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes learning and respect.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students with diverse learning needs.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods and materials accordingly.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of best practices in special education.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
- Promote social skills and independence among students through targeted instruction and activities.
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Valid state teaching certification in Special Education (moderate to severe disabilities endorsement preferred).
- Experience working with high school students with disabilities, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with special education trends and regulations.
