Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team at Webster County High School as a full-time Bookkeeper. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role is essential in supporting the financial health of the school and contributing to the overall success of our educational mission.
Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and process invoices, payments, and reimbursements in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for school administration.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds are available for operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding financial practices and reporting.
- Collaborate with school staff to provide financial information and support as needed.
- Assist in the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to ethical standards in all financial dealings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by school administration.
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
